Deep tissue release is a very satisfactory massage technique that targets areas of dysfunction in the deepest layers of muscle, tendons and fascia.

Back to Balance will provide just the right amount of pressure to release your tissues under constant communication with you. Most people believe it’s a “No pain, no gain!” treatment but with us you are in control.

Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down adhesions. Often felt as rigid or painful areas in your body these adhesions can reduce circulation of fluids, limit movement and trap inflammation.

The practitioner will identify and focus upon realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue where an imbalance has taken place. It’s a slow movement massage where the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. It is typically used with success in chronic aches and pains, tight muscular regions and/or injured areas of the body.

Key Benefits

Reduces Chronic Pain

The University of Maryland Medical Centre reports that deep-tissue massage is more effective and affordable for relieving chronic pain than conventional medical remedies. Because deep-tissue massage increases the flow of blood through the body, it helps reduce the inflammation that causes pain. Deep Tissue Massage can also help alleviate muscle tension that is often a side effect of chronic pain by loosening the tight tissue clusters.

Stress Relief and Improves Blood Pressure

Deep Tissue Massage helps ease stress and tension. A study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that participant’s blood pressure fell after a single 45 to 60 minute session. If your looking to promote happiness and good feeling Deep Tissue Massage can help increase the body's production of serotonin! A 2010 meta-analysis in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry found it to reduce stress hormone levels and heart rate while boosting mood and relaxation by triggering the release of oxytocin and serotonin.

Recovery from injuries

Deep Tissue Massage can break up and eventually erase scar tissue in the body. It does this by improving lymphatic circulation and drainage to improve flexibility and range of motion in the affected area. It works very effectively on hamstrings, gluteus, quadriceps, rhomboids and all of your back muscles.
